We are all in the middle of a journey – sometimes multiple journeys.

Whether we are midway through a transition, midway through our life, or midway through a decision, we are all somewhere in the middle of life.

Whether we are grieving a loss, recreating a life after divorce, struggling with abuse, living out of alignment with our values, or just feeling “burned out” and stuck, we are actually in the middle of our journey.

Often we are seeking that sometimes elusive middle ground between responsibilities and desires, between pain and joy, between the past and the present — what the Buddhists call “the middle path”, the path of a balanced life, a path that leads to freedom and contentment.

MidWay Counseling can help you navigate these journeys by offering a supportive, non-judgmental environment for you to explore your struggles, your options, your values, and your goals. We can help you gain insight and develop new strategies to live the balanced, meaningful life you envision.

We have two convenient locations:
• St. Paul: Near Snelling and University in St. Paul – between downtown St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis, just a three blocks from the Green Line. Our office is near the University of Minnesota, Augsburg, Hamline, Macalester, St. Thomas, St. Catherine, and Concordia.
• Edina: Just across 66th Street from Southdale Mall in Edina. Our office is three blocks south of Hwy 62 (Crosstown) from the Xerxes exit.

MidWay Counseling is committed to providing high-quality, culturally competent, trauma-informed therapy services to help you find your middle and live a life you want. We use an integrated approach to therapy that is based on what you, the client, want and need from counseling. We offer free, 30-minute “meet and greet” appointments for potential new clients.

We believe in the dignity of all people regardless of symptoms, diagnoses, race, class, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity, or physical ability. We believe that labels divide us from our own humanity and from each other.

I specialize in providing a supportive, non-judgmental, healing space for adults going through transitions, struggling to find work/life balance, or re-creating one’s life after a loss.

My goal is to help my clients grieve and then find meaning after the loss of a relationship or career, death of a loved one, or another traumatic experience or transition.

My clients also include “helpers” and “changemakers” – those who are caregivers, medical providers, community mental health providers, social workers, or others in “helping” professions, as well as, those who work for justice and human rights.

I use a dynamic, integrative approach to therapy and incorporate your beliefs, identities, strengths, and cultures into the treatment so that I can meet you where you are right now. I have experience with narrative, cognitive behavioral (CBT), feminist, trauma-focused, existential, psycho-education, Dialectical Behavior (DBT), and psychodynamic theories.

I can help you gain insight, develop new skills, and challenge you to re-imagine a life that you want.  I focus on helping clients create a holistic, balanced life by also addressing issues such as spirituality, values, creativity, and sexuality.

I have experience working with adults of all ages who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, African-American or Black, White, Hmong, East African, multi-racial, Native American, Muslim, Christian, and Buddhist.

As a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC), I also have experience providing mental health services for adults who are struggling with chemical and/or alcohol addiction, chronic depression and anxiety, borderline personality disorder, post traumatic stress, and bipolar disorder.

My professional background includes being a volunteer helpline counselor at a LGBT organization, an ARMHS worker, a therapist at an alcohol and chemical dependency treatment center, a volunteer in a domestic violence shelter, and a community crisis stabilization therapist.
