That is why, on this page, we have included some of the most common questions a person may have before speaking to an NLP Master.

What is NLP?

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Neuro refers to your neurology; Linguistic refers to language; programming refers to how that neural language functions. In other words, learning NLP is like learning the language of your own mind!

The Empowerment Partnership

What is NLP? It is Neuro-Linguistic Programming, the study of subjective experience and how we can harness our minds for excellence in any area of our lives. It offers ways to create goals and reach them faster and with greater ease, ways to resolve work or personal issues, and ways to reduce stress and deal elegantly with change. NLP does not necessarily heal depression but ease it and help you to also understand how your mind works and how to make the best of it for an improved lifestyle as well as being used in other areas of your life such as business, relationships and teaching.

What to Expect From NLP

One of the greatest famous NLP teachers and users is Tony Robbins, just watch this short video about how one woman is struggling with large amounts of debt due to her regretful addiction to gambling. Notice how when he starts using different terminology and focusing on different parts of her thought she instantly becomes lighter? This is a quick example of how NLP can work although it may not be as instant as this, it gives a good understanding of what the therapy/coaching can entail.

A typical session may go like this : –

You arrive at your NLP Coaching session where the studio is very comfortable and relaxed. The NLP practitioner will invite you and spend around ten to twenty minutes asking you some general questions to get some information about the problem before you move on to what you are wanting to achieve from your NLP sessions.

In some cases, your therapist may spend more time gathering personal history from you but in most cases, this needn’t be the case. Once they have identified your problem and built a well-formed outcome they should move onto helping you to access your own internal resources to help you make your desired changes ( just like the Tony Robbins video above).

As the NLP begins they may help you clear a negative emotion or memory with a negative emotion connected to it. Once the NLP has taken effect you will begin to notice that things that used to cause great unease, pain and sadness have been lifted and the tension that used to exist no longer does.

When you change your memories with a trained coach it also means that when you think back to the past it is like the old problem was not actually a problem at all and only the stepping stone to a lesson and the future that you want to create. In some cases, visual memory shifts from negative to positive and helps alleviate past experiences.

How Do I Know Which Practioner To Choose?

One of the most important parts of any therapy is the relationship between yourself and the therapist in order to be able to trust and open up about all your thoughts and feelings in order to be able to work on them.
