My name is Suzie Quartermaine and I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist specialising in work with couples. I have completed introductory training in counselling skills at WPF and The Tavistock and Portman where I continued my training in Foundations of Psychodynamic Theory and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with Couples. I have worked as an Honorary Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with individuals and couples with complex needs on the NHS since 2016. I am a member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists (TSP). I abide by their code of ethics.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on the role of the unconscious and how our past experiences may impact the way we understand ourselves, and others, in the present. I meet with couples for one hour at the same time each week, during which time we explore what is being experienced and try to make sense of it together. The work sometimes involves exploring family upbringing and past relationships but may also be more focused on the here and now.

I operate on a sliding scale and am happy to discuss fees when you contact me. Fees usually start at £100 per session for couples. I have a number of concessionary rates available which will be considered on a case by case basis.
